We are looking for both EMT's and Paramedics

We are seeking dedicated and skilled EMT's and Paramedics to join our emergency medical services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in pre-hospital settings, responding to emergencies, and delivering critical medical interventions. As a EMT or Paramedic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of individuals in urgent situations.

Volunteers play a crucial role to Selcas' operation. Those who give of their time for little are an essential part of day to day business. Volunteers gain experience and valuable interactions with patients. Giving back to the community whether they are just starting their career or continuing their journey in Emergency services.

Duties

• Perform triage to assess the severity of patients' conditions and prioritize care accordingly.
  
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including administering basic life support and advanced life support techniques.
• Conduct physical examinations to evaluate patients' health status and identify any immediate medical needs.
• Manage airways effectively, ensuring proper ventilation and oxygenation for patients in distress.
• Lift and transport patients safely, utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury to yourself and the patient.
• Administer injections as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and respiratory rate, to assess patients' conditions continuously.
• Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of human anatomy to provide effective care during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid IDPH Paramedic/EMT license
• Valid Illinois drivers license with good driving record
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the demands of the job.
• Paramedic-ACLS & PALS Certification, AHA CPR Certification
• Ability to test into the St James EMS System

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Volunteer
Paramedic - $24/hr, EMT - $18/hr
Volunteer Pay: Weekdays $30 per 6 hour shift, Weekends $40 per 6 hour shift
Expected hours: 6-60 per week
